Kohen Adams
Central Huron Secondary School

Kohen volunteers at his community’s hockey school, where he trains younger players. He also plays on a local hockey team and on his school’s golf team. Previously, Kohen taught safe biking practices to children as a volunteer supervisor at a local raceway. He also refurbishes old equipment for resale. Kohen now works as a sealer at an asphalt sealing company, is a co-op student at a hydro company, and referees for hockey games in the community. |
Madi Cardno

Madi serves as student senator at her regional Student Senate where she advocates for cultural education. She also volunteers with youth and elders at her church. Madi is a member of various sports teams at her school and in the community including basketball, slow-pitch softball, and hockey, where she is team captain. During the summer, Madi has worked as a lifeguard and as a server at an ice cream shop, and she now works as a receptionist at a clinic. |
Erica Maloney

Erica is currently co-president of her school’s Student Council, where she leads events and fundraisers. She is also the student representative at her school’s Parent Council. Erica plays on a community hockey team, where she served as captain, and on her school basketball team. She volunteers as a trainer to treat injuries in a women’s hockey league. She also volunteers at sports tournaments and leads her school’s morning announcements. Erica works as a gas bar attendant. |

Hallie is captain of her school’s field hockey team and plays ice hockey in the community. During the pandemic, Hallie launched her own business to design, create and sell masks in her community. Hallie is co- president of Student Council, treasurer of the Environmental Club, and an executive on the Prom Committee. She volunteers with the local CanSkate program. Hallie works as a supervisor at a grocery store. |
Abigail Peel

Abigail is the founder and chair of her school’s Mental Health Advocacy Group, where she secures funding, organizes events, and helps to develop classroom resources. She serves as a student trustee and as president of the regional Student Senate. She captains her school ski team and is the goalie on her hockey team. She is the Ambassador for her district of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies. Abigail works as head lifeguard in two townships and on her family farm. |
Keisha Schiestel

Keisha is a long-time 4-H member, serving currently as secretary of the Beef Club where she helps run fundraising and community events. She was an ambassador for the annual Formosa Homecoming and volunteered with Community Living. Keisha plays soccer for both her school and community teams. She also plays broomball and used to coach gymnastics. Keisha now works in production for a food company and as a construction worker. |

Lian is the founder and lead of her school’s Anti-Racism and Cultures Club, which challenges stereotypes in her community. She is also the minister of internal affairs on the Student Cabinet. Lian is a member of the Youth Advisory Council and was on the Peer Support Steering Program at the Tanner Steffler Foundation, a mental health organization. She is also a member of her school’s soccer and badminton teams. Lian works as a waitress at a diner. |

Chase plays on both community and varsity baseball teams, and volunteers with Clinton Minor Baseball. He has also played hockey, serving as assistant captain for two years. Chase plays on the school volleyball team, and coaches elementary school students in the sport at camps through the Huron Tsunami Volleyball Club. He also volunteers as a referee. Chase supports school activities such as community food drives. He works as a cook at a fast-food restaurant, and during the winter works for the municipality. |
