Shadi Hadj-Youssef

Shadi is Tunisian-Canadian with roots in Montreal. As a Neuroscience major, Shadi developed a strong interest in neurogenerative diseases and has been involved with various causes in this sphere since his second year of undergraduate studies. He is currently President of McGill Students for Parkinson’s and a student representative for Parkinson Quebec, helping to organize and participate in events that have raised substantial funds in support of Parkinson’s research. Previously, he participated in the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne’s internship program, in which he conducted research on Huntington’s Disease. With additional interests in entrepreneurship, Shadi holds the position of Chief Business Development Officer at Nhance Neurotechnologies, a start-up creating natural, safe and convenient consumer products that augment human cognition and performance. Shadi is fluent in English, French and Arabic, and holds basic proficiency in Spanish. |
Claire Paoli

Claire was born in Trento, Italy, and has subsequently held residency in Italy, France, the USA and Canada. In her second year at McGill University, Claire was the Co-Founder and President of the Research and Sustainability Network, and through this organization worked to engage youth in interdisciplinary discussions around sustainability and provide students with resources to contribute to sustainability research and initiatives. Passionate about the protecting the environment, Claire has been employed in research at the intersection of economics and sustainability, sat on the governance council of a fund that supports sustainability projects, and was a jury member on Finance Montreal’s Sustainability Initiative, evaluating various companies’ Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. In the future, Claire aims to work in development finance or policy, or impact investing. She is fluent in English and Italian and has gained intermediate proficiency in French. |
Wissam Ghantous

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Wissam holds both a Bachelor and Master of Science at the age of 21. Currently, Wissam is employed as a security researcher intern at a cryptography company working as part of its number theory group. Previously recognized by the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council for his undergraduate- and graduate-level research endeavours, he aims to develop a career in security research specializing in post-quantum cryptography. In the community, Wissam is a mentor to young scouts as a leader with the 253rd St-Maron Group, and as a trainer to six scoutmasters-to-be. As a member of a traditional Lebanese dancing group, Wissam participates in community shows, festivals and celebratory events. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French and has achieved advanced proficiency in German. |
