The Y Mind Program at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver

Y Mind was first developed in the Vancouver area in response to high levels of anxiety among youth and limited access to culturally safe and accessible supports in the community. The program is an evidence-based early intervention designed to equip participants with skills that support mental health and wellbeing before challenges become entrenched. Through workshops, experiential activities, training in mindfulness practices, and learning about therapeutic tools and strategies, youth are equipped to better manage their anxiety and depression. After a successful pilot phase, Y Mind was scaled up across British Columbia. The Foundation is supporting further expansion to communities across Canada.
