Ontario Educational Leadership Centre

The Ontario Education Leadership Centre engages and educates youth from grades six through twelve in the summer so that they can return to their schools with the skills and resources to make a positive difference with their peers, neighborhoods and communities. The Centre runs various courses to develop leadership potential, each centred on an interest area such as fine art, music, athletics, student government and environmental advocacy. The courses are taught by exemplary teachers and allow participants to develop connections with one another, foster understanding across social groups, and help one another create more cohesive communities. Young people who struggle with academics or with accessing learning support services in their schools, also benefit from this programming. The McCall MacBain Foundation provides bursaries to enable under-represented or low-income youth from urban, rural and northern communities to attend these programs.
