International Institute for Sustainable Development

The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is a globally renowned environmental research and policy institute based in Winnipeg, Canada. The work of IISD includes highly respected research and policy analyses related to climate change, sustainable resource use, and fair and sustainable economies. For five decades, IISD has run the world’s largest freshwater laboratory – a research facility comprising 58 small lakes and their watersheds in northern Ontario. The Foundation’s support enables IISD to increase youth engagement both at their freshwater laboratory and by connecting research and policy expertise to youth organizations to further advance their missions.
