Stamford Centre, Niagara Falls Public Library

The Niagara Falls Public Library serves as the city’s public library system, featuring four locations: Stamford, Victoria, Chippawa and the MacBain Community Centre. These locations offer a diverse collection of books and provide welcoming spaces for community gatherings.

Our partnership has focused on supporting the renovation and expansion of the Stamford Centre Library, which receives close to 98,000 visitors each year, including high-school students and youth from nearby schools who use the library as a quiet place to study, access library resources to complete their coursework, use computers, and spend their lunch break.

In 2022, we joined the library’s fundraising efforts to expand and refresh its space to make it more accessible and host a bigger number of visitors and program participants.

Our support has contributed to:

  • Opening of the new MacBain Family Community Room: Recognizing the importance of the space in bringing young people together, we funded the construction of the MacBain Family Community Room. This is a fully accessible and versatile space for youth to participate in library and community programming, equipped with movable furniture and a kitchenette. Since its opening in spring 2024, this room has hosted various programs, including the library’s Lunch Bunch, which offers high school students a safe space to enjoy lunch, access healthy snacks, and socialize.
  • A new after-school youth program: Leveraging the new MacBain Family Community Room, we supported the launch of an after-school program for youth. This initiative provides a safe and consistent environment for teens in Niagara Falls to socialize, complete schoolwork, access nutritious food, and engage in skills development, while also offering guidance on navigating mental health resources in the community.
