Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the welfare of humanity by providing scholarships and other educational opportunities that nurture transformational leadership, and by investing in evidence-based strategies to address climate change, preserve our natural environment, and improve health outcomes.

Our Beliefs

We believe in the power of education, and scholarships in particular, to transform lives and in turn transform our communities to be fairer, healthier, and more prosperous for all.

We believe that climate change is the single most pressing problem facing our planet and that we must all do our part to address it.

We believe in an evidence-based approach to health care that will lead to more efficient use of resources and greater impact for our communities.

Our Approach

We operate our own scholarships and fellowships and grant to charitable and non-profit partners in the areas of education, climate change and health. Our work is guided by detailed strategies that are grounded in evidence-based research and aim to address gaps in existing philanthropic funding. We work with partners who are doing meaningful, impactful work that aligns with our strategic priorities.

Our approach is supportive and collaborative in the design and implementation of initiatives that add value for our grantees and contribute to the Foundation’s core objectives. We do not accept unsolicited requests for funding. Instead, our team conducts research and builds relationships with organizations in our sectors of focus, to identify areas of greatest impact and opportunities for collaboration.
