Huron County

Marcy McCall MacBain grew up on a farm outside of Walton in Huron County. She valued the sense of community and hard work in her farming town, while also recognizing that rural youth have more limited access to extra-curricular opportunities – and supports. These experiences guide the ways in which the Foundation gives back to the community today.

What We Support:

Developing the potential of Huron County’s youth: We know that youth in rural communities have more limited opportunities to explore and grow their potential than their peers in big cities. We support educational and extra-curricular opportunities that reach rural youth and enable them to stretch out of their comfort zone, build their leadership skills, and contribute to the future of Huron County.

Our flagship initiative is the McCall Huron County Scholarship, which recognizes the leadership potential, character, and community contributions of Huron County’s youth by investing in their post-secondary education. Learn about our scholarships here.

Investing in well-being and mental health: We support initiatives that address the distinct well-being and mental health needs of Huron County’s communities, particularly its youth, through education and early intervention.

Advancing community-building: We support initiatives that build connections, invest in the rich rural identity of the County, and uplift community members who are most in need.
