Natasha Sawh Named Dean of the McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill

Montreal (June 16, 2020) – The McCall MacBain Foundation is pleased to share that Natasha Sawh will serve as inaugural Dean of the McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill, in Montreal, starting July 1st.

Announced in 2019, the McCall MacBain Scholarship will enable students to broaden their perspective and develop leadership skills while pursuing a fully funded master’s degree or a professional degree at McGill University. Across Canada, up to 20 scholars will be selected for their character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity. Close to 60 other awards of $5,000 or $10,000 each will also be offered.

As Director, Fellowships and Grants and the Strategic Lead, Education and Scholarships, Ms. Sawh was instrumental in envisioning and implementing the MacBain Niagara Falls Scholarships, McCall Huron County Scholarships, John McCall MacBain Wadham College Scholarships, and McCall MacBain International Fellowships. She will continue to oversee these programs as Vice President of Scholarships for the Foundation.

This change comes at the same time as the opening of applications to join the first class of McCall MacBain Scholars at McGill. As of June 15th, Canadian students and alumni with outstanding leadership potential can apply to join the first cohort of McCall MacBain Scholars.

As Ms. Sawh moves to Montreal, Alexandra Conliffe will become Vice-President, Philanthropy and Organizational Learning, overseeing all of the Foundation’s philanthropic work out of the Toronto office. Ms. Conliffe first joined the Foundation’s team in January 2019 as Director, Grants and Organizational Learning and the Strategic Lead, Climate Change & Environment and Health,

We are looking forward to continuing to work with both Ms. Sawh and Ms. Conliffe in these new and broader mandates.
