Why is MMF in Liberia?
We selected Liberia because of its acute post-conflict situation and demonstrated need. With just over 3 million residents, increasing the donor presence and sensibly allocating resources in health and education should have an immediate and demonstrable impact on the livelihoods of all Liberians.
Resurrecting itself from the ashes of 14 years of civil conflict, Liberia has the potential to show exemplary progress, social welfare and peace to other countries in the region.
Our Strategic Approach in Liberia:
To work in collaboration with local authorities and in keeping with national policy
To invest in programs with long-term visions for positive impact
To seek leverage and efficient spending
