The Peter C. Alderman Foundation (PCAF) is an American NGO which has been awarded a two-year grant by the McCall MacBain Foundation to help develop a mental health training program for Liberian health workers.

The program objective is to build the capacity of a cadre of mid-level mental health care personnel to identify and treat people with mental illness through a clinical training program at a Wellness Unit, situated within Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County. In accordance with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s (MoHSW) National Mental Health Policy, the goal is to integrate mental health into the existing primary health care (PHC) system.
